Voter Registration and the March 20, 2012 Primary Election
Voter registration for the Tuesday, March 20, 2012 Primary Election officially closes on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. You can register at either the County Clerk's office or the Bloomington Election Commission (both located in the Government Center, 115 East Washington Street, Bloomington, IL). Deputy registrars can be found at both public libraries and many of the LWVMC Board have now been deputized to register voters. However, if you miss the February 21 date, there are three additional opportunities to cast a ballot.
- Early Voting - February 27 through March 15, 2012
Registered voters may vote in both the County Clerk and Bloomington Election Commission offices Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
- Grace Period Voting - February 22 through March 13, 2012
Mclean County citizens (outside the city of Bloomington) can go to the County Clerk's office to register and/or change address. If they intend to vote, they must vote in person at that time. Bloomington citizens may go to the Bloomington Election Commission office to register and/or change address and apply for an absentee ballot in order to vote. Times are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
- Absentee Voting - February 9. 2012 through March 19, 2012
Absentee ballots may be requested on-line or in person beginning February 9, 2012. The ballot must be postmarked by midnight, March 19, 2012 and received in the election office within 14 days following the election.
